How to copy files from a locked XperiaZ with broken screen

Hi,

I have an Xperia Z, with a cracked screen that is not responding to touch anymore.

Tried to copy files from Phone to PC, but I'm not able to see the sd-card or files.

Tried the PC Companion. It sees the phone, but say's it has to be unlocked. Which is not possible anymore.

I also tried MyPhoneExplorer (which seems to have spyware on board according TrendMicro), but also no success.

Please help, because I need my 1100 pictures....

Kind regards, Jelmer

I got one with the phone on the box. I think they all come with them so you can copy files from an iPhone over

I just connect the lead I got with my phone that allows you to transfer data and I connecet a mouse and it worked a treat I could unlock my phone with the mouse and once the phone was unlocked I pluged the USB lead back in and transferred all my photos across to my PC. I am so happy now as I got back of holiday today and I thought I had lost all my holiday photose 😊

Use a USB mouse via OTG cable to unlock your phone, then send files wireless via Bluetooth, Wi-Fi direct or NFC.

Hi @arjunthevar

You could try installing ADB, also the SDK has to be up to date, and the USB debugging turned on from your device on the Developer Options. Then plug your Xperia to your computer and from a command prompt (you'll probably have to be in the folder where adb.exe is, most likely something like C:\Program Files (x86)\Android\android-sdk\platform-tools\adb.exe) run this command:

To change command prompt to adb folder:
cd \adb

To pull all files from your device and copied to the adb folder:
adb pull /  *in this case USB debugging should be activated on the device.*

Other Commands:

user data only:
adb pull /data

Internal sd card only:
adb pull /mnt/sdcard or adb pull /sdcard

Pictures on internal sd card:
adb pull /mnt/sdcard/dcim or adb pull /sdcard/dcim

Also you can read on this link about the ADB installer:

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=48915118

Take a look on how to install Google USB Driver in SDK to let ADB see your Xperia device here:

I hope can be useful.

I'm at disposal for any question.

How do you use the mouse to input pin on z1 compact when the screen is black?
