I purchased a Sony Xperia Z3 around 3 days back and it's providing me fantastic battery life.
I would like to understand Sony rocomended charging pattern.
I noticed that with great battery performance,Xperia Z3 lasted for 1.5 days on full recharge. I would like to maintain my battery in top condition to derive such performance regularly. Here are some questions regarding maintainanace/ charging.
1. Can I charge the Xperia Z3 even when the battery is not low( <10%)? Can I still chareh the phone at 20-30-40% or higher battery remaining? Will it hamper battery longevity/ performance?
2. Can I charge Xoeria Z3 overnight? Based on few other posts and my experience,I erase that charging Xoeria's mammoth battery takes 3-4.5 hours. Hence even if I start the charge at late evening,I am most likely to keep it plugged in. Would it impact battery life and performance if I charge Xperia overnight?( 7-8hours plugged in)?
Does Xoeria charger EP 880 have auto power cut off functionality after 100% recharge?
3. I have purchased EP 881 Quick charger and Quick car charger. I am yet to test the performance. What's the power/ rating difference between EP880 that came with Xoeria Z3 and Ep881? What's the fastest charging time I can expect when phone is switched off/ on?
4. Is it recommended that I allow battery to fully charge--> use the phine till battery drains below 5-10% and then again fully charge? Would this pattern keep battery peformace in top condition?
5. Would using Blutooth noise cancelling earphone MDR EX31 BN drain Xoeria's battery life due to Bluetooth radio? What Worcester drop I can expect in battery life if I keep the Bluetooth plugged in?
6.Can I charge MDR EX31 BN noise cancelling earphone with Sony's EP 880/881 charger? The manual recomeds that I use only the supplied cable for Charing noise cancelling earphone.
7. If I use external battery bank while travelling along with EP880's supplied USB cable, would it hamper battery performance?
Look forward to your reply.
Thanks,
Vibhu

1. yes you can, it doesn't matter if its at 1% or 99%
2. yes you can, once it reaches 100% it will stop charging, so it won't damage your phone nor the battery. the charger doesn't the phone will stop charging.
3. It's the same, my understanding is that one has a cable and the other its just the wall charger. Turn off the phone, that will be the fastest way to charge it, then airplane mode, also if the phone its really hot the battery will drain faster, that's normal with all phones.
4. That's fine, you can do that but you don't have to.
5. the Xperia Z3 has low energy bluetooth so it shouldn't drain your battery that fast.
6. yes you can
7. You can use a battery bank with Sony's micro USB cable or another micro USB cable, it won't affect your phone, it just takes longer to charge the phone.
Charging the phone through a wall charger while the phone its off, its the fastest then through wall charger and on airplane mode, then while its on.
fourth place will be phone off while connected to a computer or battery bank, with that said, it depent on the micro usb port voltage and the battery bank output.
@VN1 I hope that info helps

Regarding point number 2; if the phone stops charging automatically at 100%,why would the charging symbol still appear on my phone while.plugged in at 100%? Is there any specific setting I need to configure for charging to stop at 100%?
It's great to.know that I don't have to always discharge and charge to.maintain good battery life.I always thought that all the cells need to be utilised for battery to last.in top condition.

Back in the days, when the Xperia X10 was released (2010) once the phone reached 100% the notification LED used to turn off, but after that even if the phone reaches 100% it will remain on, and the icon means that its connected, either to a computer or charger.
