Hi guys I'm new on this forum and I'm looking some advice/help.
I've just got my z3 and updated it to the recent update. Now before this update I was having a play around as you do and I got to admit I really like the phone and is functions. So I went ahead and updated the software. After doing this I noticed that some of the functions that I really liked, for example the mute function has disappeared. No problem I found out you can just use the volume key to do this. However I have been reading about the whole volume setting operates both message and media.
So my question is, can these be separated as in you set the volume for messages without affecting your media volume or do I have to keep adjusting the volume each time I'm finished watching or listening to a media file in order for me to hear my message notifications?
Hope someone out Sony can answer this.

No @revsi the ringtone volume is linked to the notification volume.
The media volume is a separate slider.
Goto settings/sounds and notifications you will have a volume slider alarm and ringtone.
If you are watching a YouTube video and turn the volume down. Your ring volume will still be high.
If you are not listening to any media using the volume keys will then alter the ringtone volume. Hope this helps

Sorry to be a pain. So what you are saying is that, whatever volume you use to watch a video or listen to music at that will also be the level for your message tone?
I know on my galaxy s4 you had your media setting and then a separate setting for your messages.
But if what you might be saying is true then that **bleep**!
