Phone turns off by itself

Hi,

I have recently been having a couple of problems with my z5.  The phone turns off randomly.. If I try to turn it back on shows the red battery symbol on screen and won't turn on. Currently the only way to turn it back on is to plug it in and then turn on.   It will then power up and says I have plenty of battery, I can then remove from the power lead. Happened today again and when I plugged it in and turned it back on said it still had 74% battery. Is this a battery error?

Hi guys,

Yeah me too... for over a week now, it will randomly switch off, restart itself, but then i have to physically restart it because i get no signal whatsoever to txt or use internet.

This morning alone it has done this around 11 times.

I am finding it is doing this no matter what my battery percentage is at, either when low or quite full... my only difference to your issue is that i dont need to connect it to a charger to turn it back on!

also finding it does so a lot more when i am not connected to my wifi at home...

Hi

My phone is also randomly shutting down and won't power up until plugged in. I've tried all the suggested resolves, same problem. It has just done it again straight after a factory reset before anything had downloaded so it isn't anything I'm doing with the phone. Really liked the phone until this. Any other help would be appreciated

Same problem here. Last night my telephone shut down by itself. I never had this before. Last week I got a software update for my Xperia XZ1 Compact (build 47.2.A.10.80).

Only could get it powered by combination of volume key plus power key. After it booted I saw that there was still 32% of my battery!

I use my telephone also as alarm clock and now I don't feel comfortable anymore.

I'm having the exact same problem and it doesn't matter how much charge is left in the battery, and as far as I can see I doesn't matter what aplication I'm using just that I'm using the phone!!

I didn't do this until recently, is there some new configuration that I have to consider and change to avoid this?

It appears to be a very general problem for what I've been reading so probably not an issue on my particuar phone

That may be a different problem as I had that with  my Z3 compact. Eventually it could not be turned on.

This has no problem turning on, but it just shuts down with power in the battery.

I have a Z5 Compact. It shuts down between 70%-80% .

After pluggin in and turning on, it will still show the same battery level and eventually runs down to zero.

I think as someone said, it's a power leak. On second thought since it comes up with the red battery saying not enough power when I try to turn it on, it could be a voltage drop. (which is also a leak :))

I doubt any way to fix it.

So that was my 3rd used phone purchase and the last Sony.

Had enough of it's working / it's not working.

Be dead or work right!

I continue with saying that I found Ultra Stamina mode working much better. It lasts for a day.

I have an Xperia XZ, Xperia Z3+ and Xperia Z5. All of them now out of warranty and doing the same problem. I send them to Sony Uk repair centre and specifically requested at least they put battery replacement i will pay labor and materials instead they told me. Sorry we can't repair out of warranty products. I even called trying to get them repaired with no liability on their part they refused.

After spending £1300 less than 1.8 months ago on these predators of Sony. I recommend you neve buy their phones they are flawed and service is terrible once out of warranty.

I used to be sony fan with all home gadgets sony but now, never, i will not spend a dime on a sony product. Am slow getting rid of all Sony junk in my household.

I will actively discourage consumers from buying this brand.
