strange display damage

WP_20170312_004[1].jpghello guys, my xperia z5´s display shattered, now it has a really small crack in the bottom left corner where the screen meets the bezels. Now only the bottom half of the screen seems to be working, so it is completely unusable... My question now is has anybody had a similar incident like this and if so how and where did you send it in to be repaired? Is it even repairable?

Did it fall down?

It can be repaired, it will need glass and digitizer and my guess is that it's not going to be cheap nor covered by warranty.

You may want to contact Local support Slightly_frowning_Face

Hi @ryan24651,

I'm so sorry to hear about what has happened to your phone. Slightly_frowning_Face

As @YoGem said, this can be repaired at an authorized service centre.

I would recommend that you get in touch with your Local support team and they will arrange a repair for you. If you have any questions regarding service routines, service time and so forth they will gladly assist you these questions as well.

Best of luck with the repair and let me know if there is anything else!

thank you for replying Slightly_smiling_Face

how much will it cost? like 100€? 200€?

If the support center decide that it's user fault you will have to pay to fix it. I know that for a Z3/Z3c the price to replace it can go between $250/$350 USD, I suppose that in Europe should go for almost the same... You will still need to contact your local support to receive an appraisal.

Hi again!

The repair cost may vary between markets so I'd recommend that contact your Local support team and see if the can give you an estimate of the cost, if this is not covered by our warranty.

I'm afraid that I won't be able to tell if you this is covered by warranty or not, the phone will need to be examined at an authorized service centre at first.

Keep us posted!
