syncing calendar via exchange active sync with my corporate account

I recently transferred my data from iphone 4s to my new Z1 compact using the Xperia Transfer Mobile App.

Firstly, all the appointments in my calendar on the X1 are now in there twice. Can this be corrected?

Secondly, when I test the syncing between the devices it all seems to work except if I put something in the calendar on the X1 it does not appear in the calendar on the 4s. I'm reluctant to switch to using the X1 until I know that the syncing works in both directions so how do I acheive this?

Hi and welcome to the community! Since you're new please be sure that you have checked out our Discussion guidelines.

It sounds like you have got the calender appointments transferred and saved to the local device calender and when you added the EAS (Exchange ActiveSync) you got the meetings added in the ActiveSync calendar.

I would suggest that you make sure that you have all your meetings synced to your ActiveSync account. Go to settings > apps > all > calendar storage > clear data. (all your meetings will disappear from your phone).

Go to settings > accounts > your EAS account and select to sync your calendar. Than you should get back all calendar appointments again but not any duplicates.

When it comes to adding new appointments, make sure that you select your EAS account under the option 'calender' and not the 'device calendar'. It has to be saved to the EAS calendar in order to sync.

If you want a quick fix, you can open the calendar > tap the calendar icon in the upper left corner > select to hide the 'device calendar'.

Thanks for your help. I didn't understand how to hide the device calendar however. I see when setting an event you can choose which account to put it on, but can you set the default to the EAS one?

Create new event, set EAS calendar and save it.

After that EAS should be default choice for new events.

In some odd cases google account always stay default (usualy after android version upgrade) and can't be changed.

In that case you can use calendar app/widget like Business Calendar which has option to set default calendar for new events.

I now have the problem that syncing with EAS controls my permissions so that I can't deselect Pin entry on the lock screen and it will only allow immediate locking of the screen when turning it off. This is annoying as I'm having to continually enter my pin everytime I look at my phone. How do I change EAS administrator rights so I can get my choices back?

Anyone have any answers to this part?

Hi,

Sorry for my late response.

This is policy on the EAS account. You can't change this from the phone side, it must be changed on the EAS side from the people that is managing your account.
