Hi Sony,
I've got this touch screen iresponsive on the top and bottom. I was not able to pulldown the notification and shortcuts menu when in portrait mode. Now even the bottom part of the screen starting become iresponsive. Pressing the back/menu/taskmenu starting to mulfunction.
Please help me fix this issue.
Wow, Doug! I almost can't believe it: we were writing about the same thing at about the same time! Is this some kind of telepathy? Or are Sony devices synchronized to fail at the same time and to arise the same feelings in us unlucky owners? 😄
In my case, not worth the trouble (and cost) of repairing the screen. The bottom of the sea is the best place for this device.

I am sorry, but unfortunately I am not able to assist with local cases such as this. This is because I am situated in Sweden and only know of our own local service routines, consumer laws and warranty terms and these vary depending on where in the world you are situated.
I can therefore not answer and advice the next course of action, as I am not familiar with your market. I know it may be a frustrating reply to receive, but the only thing I can recommend on my part is to try to get in touch with your Local support once more for further assistance and to raise your concern.

I know it may be frustrating to see the same reply from me regarding this, but please understand that when the concern is hardware related, I can only refer to service. This is because performing any form of service on your device is against the warranty terms, only authorized service centers are to perform repairs.
I have to say I would never imagine sony would someday get to this. This smartphones are absolute garbage, xperia z3 touch screen problems are almost a certain. How a company like sony does not assume this costs? Its not one case, its thousands of similar cases. I will never ever by anything else from sony, be sure of that and like me are thousands of people from what I've seen throughout the web. Tell that to your boss
I'm Brazillian. Today start the same problem with my Z3Compact. What should I do?
Looks like a lot of people are having this exact same problem. A couple of weeks ago the top of my screen started giving me problems. Tonight, the bottom just went too. I can't use the bottom three buttons at all.
Since I'm currently in debt as it is, I seriously doubt I can afford to have it fixed. And considering the accounts of so many others with the same issue, it doesn't sound like it would be worth it even if I could. I guess all I can do is go back to Carphone Warehouse and hope they'll be able to switch my contract to a new, preferably more reliable phone.
So, add me to the pile of "in the bin, goodbye Sony." They'd already lost my faith on the console front in the last few years (PC master race!) and now I'd be hesitant to go for their mobile devices, either.
Bad form, Sony. Bad form.
Emir, I hope threads like this give you pause for thought if you have any pride in working for Sony. If this is the level of respect with which they treat their customers, I dread to think how they might treat their employees. Run. Run while you still have a soul.
Same thing. Two phones with delay of 1 month.

Cannot be a coincidence - the most essential lines of the screens just stopped working...
All the rest is OK.
Since yesterday I join the suffering when typing. I have no enter or spacebar available anymore. The top is longer nonresponding, but I could get the dropdown if I unlock from top to bottom. I already used glove-mode for a year. Now I have to look for a new phone, because the warranty is just past and it can't be fixed (other then buying all new phone) :'(. The back was also broken, while it was always in a case and never fell. I also have to say goodbye to Sony, unless they come with a solution to this expensive joke on customers :).

Je suis nouvelle ....et déjà décue de lire tous ces commentaires sur le même problème que je rencontre.
J'ai un Sony Z3 Compact que j'ai acheté uniquement pour l'appareil photo, ce que je suis toujours ravie ! Téléphone acheté fin 2014 et j'y prends le plus grand soin (au vu des prix des téléphones !!!) .Il n'est jamais tombé, pas une seule rayure.... bref, après à peine 3 ans, j'ai déjà des soucis....
1/ le balayage du haut du tél vers le bas ne fonctionne plus ou à titre très exceptionnel (pour accéder au mode avion, bluetooh, livebox...) depuis quelques mois déjà.
2/ le pavé numérique et alphabétique dysfonctionne sur tout le côté droit (ex Le "P" tape un "O", le "M" tape un "L" et le "0"tape un "9" , le + tape une / et celui depuis environ 4 /5 mois....
3/les trois touches du bas de l'écran ne fonctionnement plus ou voire très exceptionnellment depuis samedi (je suis obligée d'éteindre mon téléphone à chaque fois pour obtenir mon écran d'accueil.... bref ..... Tout cela pour dire que j'ai acheté du SONY en croyant que j'achetai de la qualité, je suis extrèmement décue de rencontrer des problèmes depuis des mois....(donc cela veut dire au bout de deux ans d'utilisation !!! 😞 ) J'espère que vous serez au moins capable de me dire d'ou cela provient et s'il n'était pas réparable (gratuitement j'entends bien !) , de pouvoir obtenir un geste commercial pour l'achat d'un autre téléphone. Avec mes remerciements.

I am new .... and already deceived to read all these comments on the same problem that I meet.
I have a Sony Z3 Compact that I bought only for the camera, which I am always thrilled! Phone purchased at the end of 2014 and I take the greatest care (in view of the prices of phones !!!). It never fell, not a single scratch .... in short, after barely 3 years, have already worries ....
1 / the scan of the top of the tel down no longer works or very exceptionally (to access the airplane mode, bluetooh, livebox ...) for several months already.
2 / the numeric and alphabetic keypad dysfunction on all the right side (ex "P" type an "O", "M" type an "L" and the "0" type a "9" and that for about 4/5 months ....
3 / the three buttons on the bottom of the screen no longer work or very exceptionally since Saturday (I am forced to turn off my phone every time to get my home screen .... short ..... All this is to say that I bought SONY believing that I bought quality, I am extremely disappointed to meet problems for months ... (so it means after two years of use !! ! :-() I hope you will at least be able to tell me where it came from and if it was not repairable (for free I hear!), To be able to get a commercial gesture for the purchase another phone. With my thanks.

I faced the same problem, but luckily it happened just a few weeks before the 2 year warranty ended. Sent it in to Sony Support and had it repaired free of charge.
Now I hope it will last another two years until I have to buy a new phone.
