Hi Sony,
I've got this touch screen iresponsive on the top and bottom. I was not able to pulldown the notification and shortcuts menu when in portrait mode. Now even the bottom part of the screen starting become iresponsive. Pressing the back/menu/taskmenu starting to mulfunction.
Please help me fix this issue.
Similar problem, touch is unresponsive in the region between the home key and the back key. Did the service test and it failed to pass it. Device is just a year and half old. I like Sony mobiles but, did not expect it to disappoint me this far. Very disappointed. I have problems in receiving call as the touch does not respond. However, it responds to alarms. Argh! Very disappointing.
Hi @Pall, I am very sorry to hear that.
Have you had the chance to take a look at my previous replies regarding this, for example the post here? /t5/Xperia-Z3-Compact/Xperia-z3-Compact-top-and-bottom-Touch-screen-not-responding/m-p/1319138#M2788...
I am sorry to say that there is not much else I can do as far as troubleshooting goes in this case.

Yes, I have taken to your replies and it only seems that nothing helps at all. Your replies are always the same and I've tried everything possible but, the device fails. Sometimes I feel it's improving but, now I'm very sure that the situation is getting worse. The device is just less than two years old and it's really agonising to realise that it's a problem that many people are facing and that there is no solution to it. I can only hope Sony to find a solution to the problem or else it'll lose the trust of people like me who used to be a die hard fan of Xperia.
A couple of days ago the bottom part of the screen stopped responding. I did find the needed parts at a decent price (I'm pretty sure a certified Sony service would demand more than the phone is worth), but I'm not sure if I want to bother fixing it. Right now I'm limping it glove mode, but it's only a short term fix.
I am really dissapointed the way Sony treats their customers, and while I like their design and dedicated camera button I'm not really sure my next phone will be a Sony...
I had already moved on with another Sony phone zx2c. The z3c is retired for good due to "old age" which had served me for more than 3 good years.
Zx2c will be the phone now which I can also carry in my pants pocket.
Spero per te che sia perfettamente funzionante

I hope for you that it is fully functional

I understand that it may sound like I am repeating myself, but I am sorry to say that the reason for that is because there is not much else I can recommend you to try as far as troubleshooting go.
If the aforementioned troubleshooting steps do not help, I am sorry to say that the only thing left for me to refer you to would be to have your device sent in to an authorized service center.
I have the same problem. I have read outside this site, that the sreen should be replaced. Is this true?
It's nice to know I'm not alone with the Z3 Compact Touchscreen problem.
I was already retiring my phone as a nearby clock. Then I noticed the top stopped working. Just now the bottom doesn't respond. It's ridiculous and obvious that Sony has planned for its touchscreen failure.
Below is their diagnostics that I painfully was able to get to after rotating my phone. I couldn't get out to the home screen without restarting it. Definitely will not buy Sony Phones because of their lack of support. The phone was sitting for a year in its horizontal dock minimal usage.
Same issue here. Purchased new in September 2015 and this just recently started to happen. Top and bottom of screen. Still functional (swipes sometimes take a few tries) but slowly getting worse.
The only other issue I've had with this phone is the camera lens--photos were becoming cloudy (this was at least a year ago). It turned out to be the coating on the lens degrading--removed it with alcohol and a Q-Tip and that fixed the problem.
Sounds like I was lucky to get almost 3 years out of it. Was thinking about switching to a newer Xperia Compact but now I'm going to look at other options.
