I just purchased a new Z5 Compact and have found that when making a call using the speaker phone / handsfree option the person on the other end of the call hears the echo of their speaking. Its like what is coming out of my speaker is being picked up by my microphone and sent back to the other party with a slight delay.
I have seen other posts in a similar vein.
Is anything known or being done about this problem.
I like to use the handsfree speakerphone option for calls a lot and this is a big problem for me.
thanks!
I am sure I am oversimplifying this issue but it occurs to me that the speaker is simply too close to the microphone on the Xperia.
I am converting from an Iphone where I never had this issue. The iphone speaker is at the bottom of the phone aimed away from the microphone. Is this just a design flaw with the Xperia Z5?
Check out this post from Rickard. It seems like it may be related to this, but it's probably worth trying a software repair just in case.
Rickard seems to be promising a firmware update? Is that what you are referring to? I dont see a real solution from Rickard's post.
Sort of, he's saying there is an issue related to some Z5 Compacts and echos on calls that has been identified, and is currently in the process of being fixed with a software update.
I don't know if this is exactly the issue that you are facing but hopefully the update will resolve these issues for you. In the meantime please do try the software repair.
I've recently purchased an Xperia Z5 Compact and have experienced this same issue. While using speakerphone, the other person hears a loud echo of their own voice after a second or two.
The link you provided try for software repair returns a page that states: "Access Denied
