As no SONY USB-C to USB-A cable provided with Xperia 1, I have to buy USB-C to USB-A cables from other manufacturers. However, it turns out that 8/10 cables are not compatible with Xperia 1 (nothing happens when connected to a computer)
model: J9110
firmware: 55.0.A.2.278
Take a close look at the charger.
The USB-C cable can be detached from the charger and voila; you have a perfect cable to hook up your phone to a PC.
Also make sure that you give correct permissions on phone when connecting to a PC.
(if not, nothing will happen due to security reasons)
This cannot explain why there're 2 cables working
My response regarding USB-cable was related to the incorrect statement that there were no USB-C cable supplied with the X1.
It is supplied and it works fine.
If you want to make sure that all works best with your Sony X1 phone, use original Sony manufactured cables, chargers, headset, etc.
However, if you for example want to use a random $1 USB-cable from China that does not work, it is not a Sony issue nor responsible to fix.
Both Anker and Aukey cables work for me without issues. Are you buying some cheap Chinese cables maybe?
Xperia 1 comes only with USB-C to USB-C cable. If you want to connect Xperia 1 to regular charger or PC you need to buy an additional USB-C to USB-A cable like the OP mentioned.
all cables are made in China, but the interesting thing is the two 1$ cables work, the 8 cables ranging from 4$ to 8$ don't.
Just got this phone today and we're they thinking by not putting a proper usb data cable in with it!? Its a £800 phone ffs.. First time jumping to a sony phone and its little things like this that really off 🙄
Did the system actually just sensor the abbreviation "W-T- F"???
You say remove the cable from my charger but it isn't USB c to a or whatever its actually USB c to c. My PC doesn't have a USB c port... Just Standard USB ports...
