Cannot change ringtone

I just purchased the Xperia 1 and I tried to change the ringtone to the one I had in my previos phone Xperia Z2.

The problem is that even when I select a ringtone from an SD card (an .mp3 file), it doesn't get added to the ringtone list and I cannot select it. The same thing happens when I try to change the wake up alarm tone.

I've tried copying the file to an internal storage, but I still cannot add the file to the list even though I can select it with the file browser.

I don't want to use the phone until I get the sounds right, so please help?

Figured it out: had to copy the file to the internal storage, remove the SD card, and then browse for the audio file. Then it added the audio file to the list.
