How many/which apps supported by creator mode?
Netflix as far as i know.
Not sure on amazon
Amazon does(from watching The Boys), as does Youtube Vanced..not sure about the normal Youtube.
Hi @Beastkut, sorry for the late reply to your question.
It is not app specific, but can be turned on at any time and applies to the display generally.
Auto creator mode lets you set the display in Standard mode for general use, but it will be enabled automatically in certain applications. Auto creator mode currently works with Netflix (I may need to double check this based on the post made by @RottenFoxBreath).
@RottenFoxBreath, would it be possible for you to get back to me with a few screenshots from both apps? I don't have an Amazon Prime account myself since Amazon is pretty meh here in the Nordics.
If you could also tell me if you have creator mode turned on all the time or if you only have it set to turn it on automatically.
You probably already know this but to take a screenshot with the notification bar shown, you will need to use power button and volume down at the same time.
Thank you!
Yeah, i'll do some pics..
I tend to just run with Creator mode all the time, to be honest, it improves most things.
As to Netflix, it does work with Auto Creator mode, and Sony state this in the manual:
Yeah...i use auto creator mode
I tend not to use Auto Creator mode, as there is a system bug that combined with Auto Brightness, the system will sometimes forget to go back to Auto Brightness, and seems to get stuck on a random level of brightness. But switch Creator mode on, and calibrate the screens colour, and use Auto Brightness, the screen is marvelous.
@RottenFoxBreath, thank you, much appreciated.
I just want to make sure that all the information I have is the correct one and since I can't really test it myself, I'll need your assistance!
I'm happy to hear that you are pleased with the display and have a great weekend!
Thanks, it seems that sometimes like i posted, that with Auto Creator mode, and Auto Brightness, that after watching say Netflix, or Youtube, with HDR or 4K material, the display just bugs out, and picks a random brightness, and stays that way, until you either switch one or t'other off.
But I prefer Creator mode on all the time, white balance calibrated screen, and Auto Brightness on also.
The screen is extremely viewable in bright direct sunlight, compared to my old Huawei's, and Samsungs that I've passed on to ther members of the family.
My old Mate 10 Pro, which my daughter has now, in direct sunlight, reminds me of a kindle, or an old 2 tone lcd screen, the colours are all washed out, and it just appears like the details are outlines.
My son, a techhead was very impressed the other day, when I let him see it when we were at the beach with the dogs, he has to cover his screen with his hand to be able to see the screen in bright sunlight, for it to have any real detail/colour.
I like my 1, it's just the camera motion issues and proper 21:9 photos that need added/fixed, and it's probably the best phone I've had..and don't get me started on the fantastic audio it produces.
Atmos...awesome!
Music with PowerAmp Music Player pro is far and away with its own engine the dogs danglies!
