I had this phone for about a month and just found out that all the camera sensors are not 12mp. Has anyone noticed?
Where did you get this information from ?
It depends on the aspect ratio of the image: if you shoot in 16:9 mode then yes, it is 9MP, but if you choose 4:3 ratio in the settings, then it is 12MP.
Yes, not 12 MPX.
Sony IMX445 12.2 MPX
Samsung S5K3M3 13 MPX
Samsung S5K3M3 13 MPX
But you can shoot photos in 12 MPX and 9 MPX.
This is when you go to the camera settings and also has the option of what sensor you want to take the picture. I tried to see if it was something I did, but you can't chnage it for these 3 sensors to change the mega pixel.
Sony, in a sense giving a bad advertisement and if they are claiming for Xperia 1 to have the 3 sensors be 12mp, then that is what the sensors should be. Now, there is nothing that says in the settings about how to change the 9mp to 12mp or 12mp to 9mp. It is default that way.
You change it in camera settings when you pick your picture format.
@RottenFoxBreath And, that is exactly what I did. But, that doesn't change anything.
Then you obviously did something wrong.
I can shoot in 4:3 with 12MP and in 16:9 with 9MP with all three lenses.
I don't think you understood and suggest you to read my other comments. My Xperia Z3 and Xperia XZ2 Compact give me more options for which mp to use. However, this is not the topic and if you decide to not read my previous comments.. Essentially, all sensors were supposed to be 12mp, not 9mp. 16:9 is supposed to be 12mp.
