Xperia keyboard doesn't appear in the keyboard settings

Hi, my Xperia 1 was purchased in HK.

In the keyboard options there's only Xperia Chinese and Xperia Japanese keyboard. How can I install the Xperia English version of the keyboard?

SwiftKey replaced the Xperia keyboard in 2017.

But you can download it from here!

Hi @felixpes;

Even the HK version should have came with the Google Gboard keyboard pre-installed, but you can always download it from the Play store.

That's strange @felixpes, can you find and install other keyboard from the Play store like the SwiftKey?

Thanks for your reply.

I can see Swiftkey in the Google play. And also can see cover themes for Xperia Japanese keyboard.

I thought the Xperia Keyboard was discontinued for the Xperia 1 devices?

-I cannot find it in Google Play store either, although I find GBoard fine so I have not missed it.

The interesting thing is that I was in Japan a few days ago and I had the Xperia keyboard preinstalled on the same device.

Now I had to factory reset the device inorder to resolve some connectivity issues. The connectivity was resolved, but the keyboard has disappeared. Looks like a bug, or a decision to hide the keyboard in certain locations.

Can someone who can see the keyboard in Google Play post a weblink here?

Thanks

@felixpes, if you are looking specifically for the Xperia keyboard it ended some devices ago, the keyboard that comes pre installed in Xperia 1 is the Google Gboard, that was the keyboard I was mentioning. Sorry for the confusion.

If the software is region-dependant, perhaps the use of a VPN-service would work fine to access different markets?
