Hi Folks
Just bought a KD49XH81 Bravia Android TV. Picture is stunning, however there’s an annoying “bass boom” / reverb noise when watching TV, worse with music but does occur with normal speech also. It sounds like there are people talking in our hallway!
Been through all the settings and can’t seem to sort it, switching it to basic with surround off doesn’t help.
Any clues before it gets sent back as it’s far too annoying to keep!
Yes, that’s made no difference. Sony support want a video but it’s proving impossible to do it! Rather disappointed ☹️
Change speaker settings from Table Top to Wall mounted or visa versa...it might also be what you have it standing on, a tin table, glass table and something on the walls, picture frames, curtain rails. If you can move it's position and see if it continues.
Try the suggestion by Eskimosony and if it doesn't work, give the video another shot. @rroope
Thanks for the continued support folks.
I’ve tried the switching of settings to wall mounted, no difference. I’ll try putting the TV on the floor and see.
I’m a vehicle “specialist”, the fault sounds a bit like a blown speaker / speaker isn’t mounted right and on certain sounds it makes the noise.
Does this happen on any application as well? Do you hear like a vibration if you raise the volume? Or does it sound like the sound is coming from a "Hallway" kind. If this happens all apps and contents, I'd recommend contacting the Sony support team using the link here.
I have just purchased KD43X81J Sony TV and experiencing exactly the same noise distortion of bass sounds. Sometimes it sounds like hearing a microphone in gusty winds.
I understand there seems to be a liking for heavy bass sounds a la cinema but we find it very distracting
I’m watching a tennis match at the moment and it sounds like someone is playing a didgeridoo in the background.
awaiting delivery of Sony sound bar this Friday!! Hoping this will solve problem , but any other advice would be great.
That sounds like the Mic is on listening for "OK Google" switch it off in settings...Settings/"OK Google" Detection/Off...See if that helps
Sorry. Problem not solved. Watched/listened to other programmes and still getting exaggerated and distorted bass sounds on voice and music.
