Yesterday I baught the KD-55x75WL tv. I noticed that there is a delay when I move from one channel to another. Should I change something in settings?
How long are you having to wait for the channel to change?
Anything over 5 seconds would be too long.
If you are on Channel 1 and press 2 on the remote control to change to Channel 2
it may take 5 seconds for the TV to change channel as it is waiting to see if you are going to input
a second or third number.
If you press 2 on the remote control and then press the OK/ Confirm button on the remote
(the middle button within the arrow keys the TV will switch to the new Channel quicker (approx. 2 seconds).
So if entering single or double numbers channels always press the OK/ Confirm button on the remote and
the TV will change channel slightly quicker.
When changing channel modern TVs load more information about the video and audio channels i.e. HD to SD or vice versa and stereo channel or multi channel sound so take a bit longer to switch over.
The delay refers to the case where I change the channels with forward-backward button. It takes 2 to 3 seconds. I did not have this problem with my previous tv set wich was 13 years old.
Using the Channel + or - buttons the change will take about 2 to 3 seconds, nothing unusual there.
Hi @Sikat50 Welcome to the world of smart TVs. The dedicated firmware has been replaced by software so essentially running a computer. Everything depends on the processor, the more money you pay the faster. You have bought the slowest. Sony TVs come in three levels 7 = Value, 8 = Medium and 9 = Best. However 2-3 seconds does seem excessive.
