I have looked everywhere and can’t find any information on the pop ups on the info banner (i button) that show up as “sub” .... what does the prefix “sub” actually mean ??? Driving me potty...
Any ideas ?

That you have subtitles on, or that subtitles are available?

Nope no subtitles on... no idea... there is nothing on any of the user guides or help pages... driving me insane...

Hi @Robbon44 My guess is it something being sent by your marantz as the text before the resolution is audio format reaching the TV. Example for me is Sky Q -> HT-ZF9 -> TV. With HT-ZF9 on (Dolby Atmos) it is Stereo 3840x2160p. If I switch off the HT-ZF9 (Picture & Sound still pass through) so I am using the TV Speakers Stereo Dolby Digital Plus 3840x2160p.
I think it is the information present when the resolution is not native but scaled to 1080p and to 2016p.

That would make sense. I will try some experimenting and by pass the HT and see or try different sound settings.
It could be a scaling picture thing too ... will do some tests
would be good if Sony actually listed the banner titles with a summary of terms....grr
