I purchased another Wharfedale Soundbar for my parents TV. I have the exact same one for my Samsung and it works perfectly.
This new soundbar works with their Sony Bravia Kd-55AG8. Good quality new HDMI cable going from it to the ARC slot. PCM selected. Operates fine. When i switch the TV off and on again, the soundbar starts up. The issue I have is when you switch it back on, say the following day, the soundbar doesn't come on with the TV. It seems that after 15 mins or so, the soundbar must go into standby and refuses to switch on automatically once the TV comes on. I have to unplug the soundbar HDMI and replug it in everytime, or I go to the TV settings and find the restart TV button, to make it work again.
I have a Humax hdr 1100s and purchased a Lindy CEC less adapter after reading the issues it might cause, but it made no difference. I have the soundbar ready to return for a refund, but I thought I'd give one last shot at finding a resolution by posting on this.
Hi chrisss1985,
Have you tried w/o the Humax receiver?
Please make sure CEC control is enabled on the soundbar and BRAVIA sync is enabled on the TV.
If everything is working as expected then the Humax might cause issues.
Cheers
Peter
Yeah, just took the Humax HDMI lead out to disconnect it from the TV (the only lead connected to it). No difference. Bravia Sync is on, but I wouldn't know how to turn on CEC control on my soundbar. Wharfedale are quite basic, but I don't think it's them that's the problem, as my other soundbar on the Samsung works fine switched on and off.
Hi @chrisss1985
The Sound bar may be basic but it surely supports CEC as it goes off with the TV. The standard troubleshooting procedure here would be to turn the feature on both sides, unplug them from the mains for a minute, then set up CEC again. I'd consult the supplied manual or even contact the manufacturer for the steps as the chances of this working are very high/
