DSC-HX80 Flashing hand on screen?

Got this camera today and there is a flashing hand on the screen and it is very annoying it has a small camera icon beside it and a small square icon as well cant get rid of it  any help before i send it back .

Hi,

 

This is the SteadyShot warning which indicated that the current camera settings will lead to blurry images and SteadyShot cannot compensate this.

 

You should be able to disable all on screen information by pressing the display button (please also refer to the instruction manual).

Thanks for the reply , i realised what was showing on the screen but even if i lay the camera down on a table that little icon still waves it hand .

Hi,

 

Yes, that's correct since it's related to shutter speed settings. If your light conditions are low and shutter speed is too long to get sharp picturs the icon reminds you that steady shot can't compensate and your picture might be blurry.


Try to increase ISO and at some point the icon should stop flashing when shutter speed is around 1/100.
