On this system there is a PC link connection. Does anybody know where I could purchase one. I have contacted Sony but without much luck.

Unfortunately if Sony are unable to help I suspect that due to the age of your HCD-J300 this accessory is probably no longer made..:smileysad:

All I can think of is to try something like Amazon or Ebay you be lucky..
