Dolby Atmos and Sony Equipment

Does anyone own an x800m2 and HTZF9 or other Sony Dolby Atmos sound bar and found when playing a 4k Atmos disc by pressing display on the remote instead of indicating onscreen  Dolby Atmos mit shows Dolby True HD? Customer support are unable to give me an answer..

System set up:
1. X800m2 HDMI '2.1' cable [yes certified 2.1]  from HDMI 1 output av;
2. the above lead into HDMI input 1 on soundbar HT-ZF9 with eARC turned on in soundbar settings and bitstream activated  inX800m2 settings ie with [Digital Audio Output] set to "Auto" and BD Secondary Audio set to "Off" Outputs the primary audio only. Select this to output Bitstream (Dolby/DTS) signals to a Sound Bar/AV amplifier (receiver);

3' HDMI out on HT-ZF9 soundbar, HDMI 2.1 certified lead to HDMI eARC input on TV yes, it is a tv with eARC and has Dolby atmos built in.
4. Entered menu on tv and turned on eARC and pass-through in Audion settings;
5. Played back Dolby vision and Dolby Atmos 4k UHD blurays such as The Angel has Fallen and James Bond 4K and ensured bothe were outputting Atmos;
6. Low and behold press display or audion on X800m2 remote and Dolby vision comes up but...only Dolby True HD 7.1 [ and not Dolby Atmos!!!]

Have you tried connecting the player to the TV directly since you have ARC enabled? I believe this should resolve this issue.

hi there,

no I haven't as the soundbar is a Sony HT ZF9 which is a Dolby Atmos soundbar. Stragely enough on the soindbar display it does say Dolby Atmos-Dobly true HD 7.1 24fps. It's only says Doby Tue HD 7/.1 on the Sonty X800m2 player. Will try this, thanks
