Sony HT ST5000 Soundbar

The soundbar is connected using HDMI arc and the TV is Samsung Q9.

My problem is that I have Virgin TV connected to HDMI 1. When I switch to the TV input on the soundbar I get the Virgin picture without sound. When I switch back to HDMI 1 on the sound bar it buffers and then takes me back to the soundbar menu and I have to press HDMI 1 from the on screen menu to get a picture.This is constant and a real pain, it`s anything other than a smooth transition.

Have you tried connecting all of the devices directly to the TV and having only the TV's ARC connection to the sound bar? This should completely resolve this kind of issue for you.

Thanks for your response.



I did try this and things were better but I had major lip sync issues with
my Virgin decoder and with DTV terrestrial, iplayer etc



I spent ages adjusting the sync feature on the sound bar but to no avail and
the reason I think is that this sound bar only takes incremental steps into
the + I have no idea why it does not allow you to go into the minus.



Spent a lot of money and to be honest the sound bar is a pain in the neck
with the buffering only to return you to the sound bar menu? It is not seem
less.

That seems rather odd. Do you have the latest software version installed [on everything]?
