Will 2.5mm speaker cable work with Sony STR-DH790?

My 1st AVR will be the Sony STR-DH790 and is arriving today.. I ran the 2.5mm speaker cable yesterday to my 5.1 speak setup and then had a thought what if the AVR can't take 2.5mm cable?
So thanks for putting my mind at ease..

AVR just arrived.. The 2.5mm speaker cables required a bit of patience to get them installed. For future reference for anyone else thinking of using 2.5mm cable best to get a smaller size as 2.5mm is the absolute max and doesn't make for the easiest install.. But as I had already run the cable I had to work with it.. 

Just waiting for the Sub to arrive now and then I'll power it up.
