And how did he explain that the live view was different? The tv is unaware of what you are feeding through the decoder....

Hi yes I can't understand it I can watch hdr in TV Netflix but when I record hdr on sky q the picture is not as good as uhd on sky. The picture is very much darker and its not so clear but when I record in uhd on sky the pictures are good. Any suggestions please.

I don't understand now what Netflix means as a comparison...
I've got this:
- you look at a show/movie/whatever live in 4K HDR on skyq and it is ok
- you record the same for later viewing and it is darker when you play it
Is it right?
If so, I say again: why are you still thinking the TV may enter in the equation? Or the sky technician btw?

Ime not thinking it's the TV ime sure it's sky ime just suggesting what sky said. I have tried everything. The sky technician suggested use another hdmi port on TV so I tried port 1 it was all fine then no problem picture was great but the following morning it was back to square one the sky box was on stand by over night.
