TV SideView and Applications
I've just installed TV SideView on an Android tablet, to control my 46EX723. I'm rather surprised though that it doesn't appear to give any access to TV apps (e.g. YouTube), is that really the case or am I missing something?
If, for example, I want to access YouTube, then I can select YouTube when 'Content searching', but the results are displayed (and can be played) solely on the tablet. There surely must be a way of persuading them to play on the TV, otherwise what's the point?
Thanks

Hi there
From my understanding, the TV SideView app is for normal TV viewing (ie Freeview).
There is also another app called Media Remote (by Sony) - There is a network services icon, of which it says "Coming Soon", therefore it "may" do what you want when its developed, however im not really sure on what it is yet.
Anyhow, what your after is an app called, "Sony TV Media Player" Although I dont think its actually made by Sony (?) - available on the Play Store. This allows you to see Youtube content on your mobile device and "Throw" the content to your TV. You will need to sign up to and create a Zappotv account. But thats easy, and you must activate it via the email sent to you (so no fake email addresses). You can then access YouTube on your tablet and "Play to TV"
Hope this helps

The SideView user guide here:
http://helpguide.sony.net/apps_c/tvsideview_10/v1_adt/gb/menu.html
would seem to suggest that there should be an 'Applications' button, which I would have assumed would let you access YouTube etc., though I don't seem to have that button (or even that menu!). To be fair, they do say "Available functions appear automatically in accordance with your home device", so perhaps mine simply doesn't allow that functionality.
Either way, thanks for the link to the other app, I'll give it a try.

I have the same year TV as you (2011 - NX723) and do not see the Applications on the TV Sideview, therefore I can only conclude its for later model TV's.

Looked at Tv sideview connected to my 2013 W805 and the Application menu is there, though it doesn't show all the applications available (and no youtube by the way) and none of them it's working (it says on the tv that they are not available..). I didn't have so much time to test it, since it's my daughter phone
