A297XP Palm Rest Paint!!!

I know people have been having problems with paint wearing away on the palm rest. Are Sony prepared to resolve this problem?

I'm thouroghly satisfied with my laptop after 10 months of ownership, however this paint issue is really making the laptop look really tired.

Any help would be greatful

Sony don't interact directly with the forum. Your best bet is to ask via eSupport or just phone them. I suspect their response will be 'EU directives mean the quality of our product has suffered, apologies etc our hands are tied' although that doesn't explain why other manufacturers don't appear to have paint coming off their laptops, and at a lower price too.

I hate the way they hide behind this EU thing, they should just improve the qulaity of paint

Lame to be honest, they should give out little spray cans or paint pots at the very least when this happens (with instructions and disclaimers of course, in true Sony style) hehe

Oh, you can always try painting on nail varnish (stolen from mother/girlfriend/sister of course) and dry that out, stops any paint peeling. Er. I think. *cough*
