Same old gripe, sony vs ipod. Ipod have over 600 accessories, including a new BMW to go with one. What do sony have for the Viao pocket?, you can't get a leather case for love nor money, answer to above question, What do sony have for the Viao pocket?, nowt!!!

I agree, and I think it's really bad news they kicked VP owners in the groin after paying a lot for it.

Sony will not be releasing any new accessories for the pocket player. I think they've just totally abandoned the product and moved onto other projects.

……and (although I don’t have one) there is a device available (from Gadgetino) to connect the VP to a car stereo.

I would argue that each and every one of the above is at least the equal of (and in most cases better than) any piece of white, over hyped, overpriced crap you can buy for the iPod.

The VP comes with Software, a charger/docking station and USB lead - so I would be interested in what else you would like!

Maybe you are disappointed that you can’t get something like this for the VP

A good point. A small charger (something like a mobile phone charger) that plugs directly into the slot on the VP would be useful. When you travel it would be nice not to have to take the cradle with you.

Charge only cables that plug into a data/charging connection are quite common – I have one for my Ipaq. Essentially they only have the charging pins connected and therefore cannot be used for data transfer.

As far as I can tell the cradle is not “active”. It’s only function is to hold the VP whilst on charge /transferring data. The male connector in the cradle must be fairly standard. I wonder if there is something another SONY product uses that would suffice.
I suppose it all depends if the battery used in the VP has the same charge requirements as a battery used on any other piece of SONY (or for that matter non SONY) equipment.

I’ll bet that somewhere out there, there is a Phone/handheld PC/Game or Camera charger that would plug right in and charge the VP !
