Have a look at this link - it appears Avatar causes lots of similar problems: -

Look in Device Manager and check which BD/DVD Drive you have installed and see if there is a firmware update available.. There are Firmware updates for 4 different drives at the bottom of the download Updates Page for your model.
Exactly which model Vaio do you have?
Which disc are you trying to play?
What version of WinDVD BD do you have installed? Right-click on the WinDVD Screen and select Settings/Setup. Click on the Tab on the right and tell us the Version.
Where do you find the model # ?
I'm trying to play a blu ray disc (avatar) or what do you mean.
Windvd BD ver. 8.0 DXVA B20.089
hope that helped....
If you need something I'll really try to find, this is the second time its happened....
model: PCG-3D1M
Hmmm that is an invalid model type. You are probably quoting the chassis type for the FW-Series. Have a look on the screen surround - the model will be something like VGN-FW21L.
If you go to the Downloads Page for your model you will find two updates for WinDVD BD under the Updates Tab here: -
http://support.vaio.sony.eu/computing/vaio/downloads/updates/index.aspx?m=VGN-FW21L&l=en_GB
You will need to install versions 8.0.20.169 and also 8.0.20.185
Model: VGN- FW21E
I'll try that
Your Support Page is here: -

I've installed the updates but it still will not read the blu ray disc...
dont know really what to do ?
What error messages do you get?
Have you re-booted and checked the Version number?
Apart from that I can't think of anything else to try
