a while ago i bought myself a FS195VP but had to return it since the fan got loud as hell when there was certain flash ads on screen. Guess the CPU got heated up for some reason.
Later on i bought a FS295VP but the problem remains. the fan goes crazy and sometimes the mouse lags A LOT when there are "heavy" ads on screen. I cant tell the different between the ads, some just does it. 😞
when i talked to the shop from where i bought last time when i had the 195 they didnt recognize it, nor did vaio-support. but it cant be a mere accident now since both my FS had the exact same problem.
and on my 195 i tried to reinstall a really old version of windows which actually helped, but then nothing worked since it didnt have any drivers, and the download area here didnt help either.
what to do? im sick and tired of the fan going crazy for nothing. other laptops doesnt react the same at all.
1st, java'n'flash have nothing to do with your problem.
Something must start using your processor heavily. You may have some spyware, virus, hidden process... or something like that, running in background and using processor all the time, overheating it, making lags, etc... If it isn't hardware problem, and it looks like it isn't... it is purely software related... Try checking task manager to see processes that are running.
In general, checking task manager from time to time, during the day, is a good habit:smileyhappy:
Your title mentions Java, but your post doesn't? What's the problem with Java? There are no Java adverts that I ever heard of, so if it's just Flash that's different.
Actually it most likely is Flash causing the high CPU usage, especially if you have noticed the correlation. It's quite well known for doing so (See Google on the subject) but pinning it down to a cause is virtually impossible. Usually.
What browser are you using?
Yes, Flash can be ugly. Like the one on the ClubVAIO start site.
It's a pain for my VAIO. It need 80% of my 2.66GHz CPU. Because, it's to heavy for my shared graphics card:smileyfrustrated:
Sorry, Java's got probably nothing to do with it. My bad, but its Flash only i guess.
Im using both Explorer and Firefox, no difference, and it cant be spyware since both computers had the problem from start, and i've made 3 complete system restores without results.
(the only thing that helped was, like mentioned, an older version of windows xp)
I brought my first comp. back to the store and the service guy over there checked it carefuly without coming up with a solution.
im positive that Flash is the villain here since the computers always heats up when theres heavy flash on screen. its so annoying 😞
I do know that Flash may consume a lot of cpu, but no other computer starts to lag like this... its like slow-motion.
not even my girlfriends old Compaq Celeron 700mhz makes a sound where my brand new vaio screams like a pig. 😞
Had a similar problem with Flash on my GRX, the really big ads on Yahoo! used to make the fans speed up.
I upgraded to 7 but nothing changed...
