Hi guys, i have just bought a new Vaio VGN-FS215Z Laptop and i want to tranfer video from my MV630i Canon Camcorder.
The problem i have is that the DV (IEEE 1394) Cable that plugs into my desktop will not plug into my new laptop, although there is a (ieee1394) S400 port on my laptop, the connection is the wrong way round and only the small end of the cable fits into the laptop and not the large end as it does on my desktop, which means there is no where on my video camera to plug the large end of the cable into. Do i need a different cable/connection?
I hope this all makes sense to someone out there.
Any help would be very much appreciated. Jim :smileyblush:
You can get a Mini Firewire to Mini Firewire cable off ebay...
Ebay link
£3.50, cant complain at that, Ive brought a normal firewire cable off that seller before, so I can tell you they r trust worthy!
Hi thanks for the info, unfortunately the link you sent to me wont open, could you give me ebay sellers name please?
Regards, Jim
Works fine for me, item number is 6785893905 if you want to put that into ebay instead. Just click 'view sellers other items' because that auction has ended. The cables are much cheaper on ebay than buying a proper sony cable, and no different really.
By the way. Starting this very day is a course at University Sony 101 about the mysteries of video to DVD. You will find it here at Club Vaio in the learn section. I'm enrolled but I need an I-Link and this one horse town in Brazil has no Vaios at all so no accessories. Geez I miss home.....I'm alright now
They mainly import them from the US don't they?
Sim, El gringos do indeed senor KeeLo. Crucial send to Brazil only from the US. The weaker US dollar makes it cheaper but is my credit card safe. Silly buggers LOL
LOL
I have a friend in Peru and he has to buy all his tech stuff in the USA
