But I guess they don't give a damn about it.
I finally managed to find a way of updating my VGC-V2S's Nvidia display drivers without using Omega drivers (So, yes, these are official Nvidia drivers) and it worked great. I played Battlefield 2 (Demo) with shadows and everything on. Class. Problem solved.
Not quite.
Having done this means I have lost the ability to watch DVDs, TV etc on my VAIO. I can hear the sound, just not the picture.
So, I reverted back to Sony's pile of (drivers) crap. I can watch TV, but bugger the idea of playing Battlefield 2.
And, I am not swapping drivers every few hours just because Sony is too lazy to get off their backsides and maybe update the drivers themselves.
I am going to ask the community a question, because it's clear that Sony wouldn't bother answering it. If anyone uses current, up to date drivers with their VAIO, and is managing to both game and watch without swapping drivers, how are they doing it? Is it a certain setting in my Nvidia display panel that I need to uncheck/check? Please help.
But I am not actually running any game while trying to do this. I can't watch TV at all, unless I revert back to Sony's pile of sh*te.
what about omega drivers Sponge I hear they are risky but do the job
You need to turn the overlay off when watching TV (or is it the other way around)
hi could you tell me what graphics drivers your using cos i was playing planetside and quite frankly ashamed of the performance i have all the video settings on minimum i even turned the music off and i'm still jerking all over the place, but i'd quite happily have the tradeoff for t.v cos i dont watch it, same with dvds.... best 1500 pounds i ever spent.... cheers viao try not to choke on your tongues when your asleep or anything (the designers not the users)
i'll just leave the tea/coffee and biscuits on the table. :smileycoffee:
They are introducing new series of vaio every 6 months or so..., so driver out of date? buy new vaio with latest driver... thats why they dont bother to update the driver.. coz who gonna buy the new vaio then?:smileydevil:
Me if i could, i back VAIO all the way.
I do see that theres been a little problums with there VAIO but most of them are to do with Windows XP and yeah ok i got to admit that VAIO software is not very stable.
But there computers are sick (COOL).

It's the lack of support which gets me, they're good comps, they need the backup

Well sometimes you just need to be on-point for those who don't get it....
Thanks
