Hi, I have recently got hold of a Vaio FS215e and have upgraded the os to XP Pro sp2. However I cannot get the sound to work. I have tried to reinstall the software from the drivers supplied and the update from Sony but it will not recognise it. I just get unknown PCI device in device manager.
Also whenever I try to uninstall Realtek I get an error right at the start saying the driver could not be removed (same message in safe mode). The speakers work as I get system beeps etc.
I have tried to point the device manually to the install folder and to windows\system32 but cannot get a driver to work.
Can anyone please offer any advice?
Thanks in advance
Dan
Welcome to Club Vaio,
Here is a link that will shed some light. Basically you need to uninstall and reinstall your XP Pro upgrade correctly and includ the serial number provided on the green sticker slapped on the bottom of you puterInstallXPPro
Have you tried right clicking the device in device manager and clicking on update driver?
