I have a PCG-C1VFK picture book.
I have tried out XP on it but decided to swicth back to W2K.
I went to use the recovery disks, but it hangs just after booting.
I see the RAMdisk & cdrom driver texts & then it stops on a blank screen with the cursor in the top left.
I have tried a few things from the sony site, including manually deleting all partitions, reformating a small 10Mb partition.
It is a new 60Gb HDD, not the orignal if that makes a differnece..
I suspect the CD could be corrupt but it looks ok.
I did try a manual recover, using the sony RECOVER command on the disk, but it failed at 28% of the image. But this could be due to some bad setting of the manual attempt.
HELP!
