Sony Vaio Problem
I bought a Notebook Sony VAIO C2S/P in December 2008, it has been fine until now, however, it appears to be completely dead, though the power lead is fine, however, the power light does not come on.
The piece with two vertical vents on the back held on by a Philips screw appears to be completely distorted as if it has got very hot.
Has anyone else found this problem?

Hi bradfordearl and welcome to Club Vaio.
It sounds serious. I think you will need a repairer to look at it but it has probably overheated which will be a costly repair.
Are you anywhere near Sony's UK Repair Partners?

Many thanks for that response, it seems to be that it is a basic fault with the notebook as their is no reason why it should overheat otherwise, however, presumably - as it is out of guarantee - there is no liability on Sony's part.
Or is there any way that I can claim?

Unfortunately, the answer is probably no.
It does not seem to be a regular complaint here.
