I have been unable to play DVD's for some time, this seems to have originated with installing a Windows XP update.
I receive an error about CODEC's being unavailable for the media but have not found any way to updaet these CODEC's - no solutions found on Microsoft nor any 3rd party DVD software?
Cheers
Taylor
Re-install the DVD player, this will refresh the codecs
which DVD player should be reinstalled - is their a default player within the system?
I have tried newer versions of Intervideo and Real Palyer but have the same problem as before - their software support suggests it is a problem with the hardware drivers?
I can find no other updates on Sony or Windows that seem to address this issue.
Try re-installing WinDVD first, then you'll have to find your graphic drivers on the recovery CD.
