Upgrading GRT996VP cpu?

Previously, on my GRX316MP I performed the well known CPU upgrade procedure to a 2.4ghz P4m.

Has anyone attempted a CPU upgrade on the GRT996 series Vaios?

Or more to the point, is the CPU on the GRT996 socketed?

I've sold my 3.2ghz HT GRT99ZP and replaced it with a 2.8 ghz GRT996VP.

Don't want to waste money purchasing a CPU that I can't use.
