Hello,
I have just bought a Sony Vaio SVS1512Z9EB.
The USB-IF xHCI USB Host Controller is not working properly.
The error displayed is:
"This device is not working properly because Windows cannot load the drivers required for this device. (Code 31)"
How can I fix this problem?
I was also trying to use VAIO UPDATE and some of the updates can not be downloaded.
Some are working, but not all of them.
I can start the downloads, but they stop after few minutes.
I tried also to download the same updates directly from Sony Webpage, but I experienced the same problem.
Thank you for the reply!!!
Alberto
Falta una actualizacion puedes encontrarla en :

y actualiza el intel wireless display software y listo deberia arreglarse
Hi light89 and welcome.
This is a problem with the USB 3.0 Controller.
Windows 8 has its own new USB stack and XHCI Controller software but this does not seem to work with the new Intel Controller. You need to force Windows 8 to use the Intel 3.0 Host Controller USB Drivers rather than the Microsoft generic drivers.
There are some answers to the problem here in Microsoft Answers: -
Or you can contact Vaio Support for a solution.
On the downloads issue, there have been some issues with the Sony download servers recently and you may have success trying at a less busy time of day. The only thing to check is if you have installed your own Anti-Virus/Firewall software (like Norton) you must fully remove all traces of the preinstalled McAfee AV by downloading and running the McAfee Removal Tool (MCPR.exe).
