Got the same problem. For me it looks like the same problem they are having with XZ http://talk.sonymobile.com/t5/Xperia-XZ/quot-Phone-Idle-quot-battery-drain-in-7-0-Nougat/m-p/1186556...

Dear representatives of Sony!

You do read what they write on the forums? After all, the problem with a quick battery discharge is common. I am from Russia and all the official page of your company inundated with discussions of this problem. Reactions of zero. Recovery software does not help and service to carry the phone silly and pointless, because the problem I have one, but a lot of people not only in my country, but also abroad. Obviously this is not a defect of the smartphone, and the problem in the program shell. Because experiencing these problems and the owners XZ. My wife has the same problem after the upgrade to Android 7.0.

We are waiting for official comments on this topic.

Sincerely,
Maksim Goryunov

Interesting. When you tap "battery" in settings, by chance do you see "idle" taking more than 25℅ of battery?
When I first moved my X performance, X compacts, and XZ phones to 7.0, it seemed like battery was draining due to idle, but quickly made a turnaround after use where now all get amazing screen-on-time and last all day.

Perhaps the update does not agree with specific 3rd party apps?
I got rid of the Facebook and Instagram apps, and do not play video games, so that may explain why my experience differs, but I'd recommend a reset and resisting installing battery heavy apps at first.
Good luck.

Hi Guys,

I found a way to improve battery life. After Update, do reset the Apps Permission.

Steps:

  1. Head over to Settings > Battery > tap on 3-dot menu at top right, and select Battery Optimization.
  2. Tap on 'Now optimized' and select the 'All apps' from the dropdown.
  3. Tap the 3-dot menu again, and select the option 'Reset app preferences'
  4. A dialog will apear to confirm. Click ok.

Next, open your frequently used apps to accept all permission!

That's it. Try and give us the feedback.

I have the same issue. After the Nougat update the battery life is terrible. 40 minutes of heavy use kills like 50% of the battery. And the charging time has doubled. Seriously considering of reverting the update back to pre-update.

These instructions are not compatible with an XP. Can you provide those which are, please?

AS per my below query:

These instructions are not compatible with an XP. Can you provide those which are, please?

In addition, does Sony have a fix for this issue - my phone is really quite poor with it's battery performance. Is there a response from them anywhere???
