After Update, do reset the Apps Permission.
Steps:
1. Head over to Settings > Battery > tap on 3-dot menu at top right, and select Battery Optimization.
2. Tap on 'Now optimized' and select the 'All apps' from the dropdown.
3. Tap the 3-dot menu again, and select the option 'Reset app preferences'
4. A dialog will apear to confirm. Click ok.
5. Next, open your frequently used apps to accept all permission!

It works for me to kill any misbehaving apps. Otherwise, try a factory reset.

Thanks for your reply. However, the XP does not have the menu path you have described. What model are you referring to?

Opps. I am using the Xperia-x-performance F8132 using Nougat 7.0 with December 2016 patch.
BUILD 39.2.A.0.374

Apologies. This is for Xperia X Performance phones.

Yeah, this piece of junk overheats after 10 mins, slows down to an extent where it is almost unusable, uses 20% battery an hour when I'm simply reading the news, I have to reset it nearly 3 times a day minimum, and put it in the freezer to get it to cool down.
How could you advertise this garbage as your flagship? (I know there's another one out, but when this came out 6 months ago, it was meant to be the best you've made)
Check my records, I've had z1, z2, z3 and now this one. This is by far the worst phone I've had.
Even writing this bitchmoan, it's slowing down where the letters are appearing 5 seconds after I push them.
Never again! Fix up this rubbish!!!

Agree, a very poor performing phone. Freezing and battery life is the most frustrating. Had a factory reset done and really made no difference. Have now sent it back for testing, repairs/replacement.
You won't get much advice from Sony on the issue. I think they are hoping we'll all just go away.

Still, what are the apps installed? Most likely a misbehaving app like Facebook app.

Just take care of running apps thats all Slightly_smiling_Face and don't keep it charging when 100% (yes i know soft is disconnecting charging when 100%) - but i trust my self more than this automaticly options

I don't have a poor battery performance on Nougat. I agree a factory reset helps. When you add Sony's backup of phone and message logs, email accounts, wifi, etc to Google's backup, it really is quite painless to reset and restore phone.

I am finding battery life excellent on this phone with Nougat. You can't assume it's the phone or manufacturers fault.

Things i do:
- Turn off NFC
- Turn off ok Google detection
- Check all sync settings
- disable Facebook background data

It's 10:30pm, phone has been on 14 hours according to Battery stats and I've had 4 hrs 40 minutes screen on time. I have 20% batt left. My GPS is on high accuracy not battery saving. I think that's very decent.

@guthers5544 my experience with the phone and with Sony Canada support has been extremely positive. I find them caring and responsive.

Thank you for your response.
Can you advise where the settings are for the Google and Facebook options, please. Have looked in depth without any luck.
