How to identify a sony xperia x

Hello,

I ordered a sony xperia x dual sim (Sony Xperia X F5122 4G LTE 64GB (Dual Sim)) via a german online shop.

The shipment status mentioned, that the package was sent from hongkong, so I want to check if I get a real sony xperia x or just a fake.

Do you have any ideas what and where I have to look for to check if it is not a fake?

Also do I get any problems if the intended area of usage would be asia and I use it in europe/ Germany?

Thanks in advance,

Alex

Hello and welcome to the forum @Alexengenineer!

As far as I can tell then both the Xperia X (F5121) and the X Dual (F5122) support the same network bands so there most likely will not be any trouble with using the phone in Germany and other parts of the world. You can compare the two models by looking at the white paper on the links below.

F5121: http://www-support-downloads.sonymobile.com/f5121/whitepaper_EN_F5121_3.pdf

F5122: http://www-support-downloads.sonymobile.com/f5122/whitepaper_EN_F5122_3.pdf

If you want to find out if this is a legit device or not, my recommendation is that you try registering it on our website to your account. If the device is recognized then you are holding a Sony original Xperia X Dual!

For further information about warranty and service procedures I would advise you to contact your Local support as @uliwooly mentioned. There are differences in these procedures between markets and regions so I would advise you to contact them.

Let me know if there's anything else! Slightly_smiling_Face

@Alexengenineer

Most likely it won't have any warranty, as long as it's not network branded you should be able to use it, just check the bands.

You can contact Sony directly Local support to check the IMEI
