I just bought an Esperia X Compact and want to know what the community thinks of this phone.
i would need accurate step by step instructions on how to do that. can i damage my phone if i do it wrong?
Here is an helpful link with instruction on how to flash your phone using flashtool and xperifirm: http://www.xperiablog.net/2016/03/12/install-xperia-marshmallow-using-flashtool-and-xperifirm-guide/
It should be really fool-fail proof however, just as a disclaimer: I performed flashing numerous times on numerous devices without briking them but I don't assume any responsibility if you brick your device.
You and a few others, including me bought a good phone but unfortunately Sony doesn't seem to be interested in the US market. One reason why we do not have the fingerprint support and the waterproof features being sold outside of the US. We can't even get WiFi calling because Sony probably doesn't want to go through the process of certification by the US cellphone providers. I happen to love this phone and yet I believe I paid too much for a plastic phone. Not a single US CP provider carries this phone and this is the reason why it's hard to find a case.☺️😁
Thanks for your reply. Though my experia x compact has a few drawbacks, I'm mostly happy with it. The price was fair and I like Sony. I really like the size of the x compact. The speakers could be louder. I found a decent case for it but it took some searching. Is it possible to buy an international version of the compact X and use it in the USA?
@kevster I am doing it, mine is Greek haha works perfectly in US. Although I can't recommend it unless you understand that warranty won't be honored in US.
Where did you buy it? I really don't care about the warranty.
@kevster Amazon
