Mass Storage Mode

Ever since the recent update, when I connect through USB to my laptop there's no option anymore to choose mass storage mode. Windows media player or Sony companion won't give me the option to sync to SD card anymore.
Any ideas on how to get this back? Is this a common problem.

Mass storage mode isn't available anymore, it was Google decision to remove this to increase security of Android OS. . However you can connect your device via MTP or media transfer protocol, just connect your device to pc and chose that option

@nolramlb Thanks for the information. Though what seems to be another problem is that the option to select MTP has completely dissappeared. It doesn't show anymore. Even in the developer options. Completely vanished.

Thanks for the reply, but this brings up absolutely nothing other than "Install software" which is already set to "on".

All I want to be able to do is plug my phone into the laptop and instead of sync to built in storage - To SD card. I've never had one problem until the recent update.
