Message about a new update for X Compact, but my device is up to date

I get message, that there is a System Update, but The Phone tells me, everything is update. Got Nougat since 4 or 5 weeks.

Do I understand you correctly in that when you go to Settings > About phone > Software update, that it says that your device is up to date? If so, where do you see that you have an available update? Is it in the form of an notifcation in your Xperia X Compact or did you get an email from My support on Sonymobile.com?

If you connect the device to a computer with Xperia Companion installed, does it also say that your device is up to date in Xperia Companion? You can download Xperia Companion for Mac and Windows.

I keep getting an update notification on the status bar of my Xperia X Compact, when I click it, it says my phone is already updated. This has been going on for one month now. How can I update / get rid of it?

Maybe try to open the "What's New" app, which is tied to some system app updates and see if anything needs to be updated in there. Than try to remember if you disabled any system app, and enable them again, in case. And yes, in this case starting the phone in "Safe Mode" might move few things. There isn't much else I can think about. Apart from the last resort, which is to reset to factory settings. But you want to try to avoid that, to make a working backup/restore system is too much complicated for Google, probably Science Fiction.

Hi @DarioDario, could you also try to see if there's an available update for you if you check using Xperia Companion as I mentioned in my previous post in this thread? Did it say that your device was up to date even in that software?

I got a new phone and the software update popup showed up. I went through the steps, it downloaded the latest and restarted the phone, but in a couple of minutes, the software update popoup shows up again as if the software was never updated.

Can anyone here help?

go through the steps again but this time use Companion on your computer with xperia connected via cable. worked for me.

I keep getting asked to do a system update, but I have already done 3!

Any advice why it keeps asking me to update?
