Muted ringtone turns automatically off

For some reason, the muted ring tone switches back to an (annoying)  audible ring tone. I haven't been able to find out why, any suggestions?

Hi @Bjorn51, welcome to the community!

Do you put your phone in to the Do not disturb mode? If you do make sure that you check the No time limit box for it to stay in this mode indefinitely when you active it. To access Do not disturb pull down the curtain at the top of your screen and tap Do not disturb. Note that if Do not disturb is already active it will say Total silence, Alarms only or Priority only.

I would also recommend that you try and reboot your device to safe mode if the behavior persists to see if this may be caused by one of your downloaded apps as they will be temporarily disabled in this mode.

Thanks for the suggestions Emil, I do not use the Do not distribusjon mode and I haven't tried Safe mode yet. However your idea that the problem might be related to a third party app rather than the phone or Android made me try to delete a couple of apps which may take control of the audio (call recorder and yellow pages), so far the problem did not happen again so I will continue to drill down which exactly app version that I should avoid. Many thanks!
