Hi,
I toggled auto rotation off and on but I did not observe any icon in the status bar coming up on my X Compact.
But there is a symbol very similar to your description coming up on the left (!) side of the status bar from time to time. This is a reminder that the app "What's New" wants to make some updates - could even be a firmware update as well. As far as I know the only way to get rid of this symbol is to do the updates. Simply pull down the status bar and go for the update.
If my guess is wrong, could you upload a picture of that symbol?
Ok, I see that my first guess was absolutely wrong.
The good news: After some investigations I could indeed reproduce this icon on my X Compact - and with it found a way to get rid of it!
Go to settings, scroll down and look if you have an item called "System UI Tuner". Select it, go to first item "Statusbar" and deselect the first "Screen Auto Rotation" - than that symbol is gone!
If you should not find "System UI Tuner" in Settings you first have to activate it:
Pull down the statusbar twice, press and hold the gear in the upper right corner for 5 seconds - then exit and go to settings: now the "System UI Tuner" is there.
But i didnt get any option in my Xperia X F5122 like UI tunor and the icon is automatically disappearing when i turn auto rotation on but it's still there in portrait mode..Any other way to get rid of it..
Thanks in advance.
Hey @varsn,
Glad to hear you were able to relevant setting. :smileysmileythumbsup:
There may be some difference in what icons are displayed, depending on what customization the phone has and where the phone was sold. The setting you are referring to however can always be turned off in the system UI menu.
Let me know if you have any other questions!
