Hi, need some help in resolving a corrupt USB driver for the Xperia Compact X. I was transferring some pictures from my phone to my laptop (Windows 10) and the transfer stopped in between with an error message (don't remember the error now). After that the laptop failes to recognise my phone and there is an unknown device in the Device Manager. Downloaded the Xperia X Compact driver from the developer website and installed it but it returned a Code 10 error and now there is a yellow exclamation mark in the Device Manager next to the Sony driver. Please help in resolving it. I have rebooted my phone and laptop, still no go.
Hi, just signed up to post this, cause I got the same problem.
Found a solution at following forum.

I found a simple fix for this problem hope it helps you and others too: While at the device manager panel where the device shows a yellow mark: step 1: right click on the device and click on its property step 2: go to driver, then click on update driver step 3: select on " Browse my computer for driver software locate and install driver software manually step 4: ignore the browsing option and skip to "Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer" step 5: you will get a list of compatible drivers, select on the 'MTP USB Device' ...... and there. your device will be recognized again and will go back to working properly!! comment and share if you found this helpful from. At step 5 before choosing "MTP USB Device" I had to choose "USB Device" from a list of hardware categories.
For me this worked like a charm. So thanks to the original poster Qba Mwaura.
I hope this will help you.
