Yesterday a software update - today a completely unresponsive black brick

Something interesting happened to my X Compact. The sequence of events so far:

1) Yesterday I installed the March-2017 software update. After update 7 apps updated, and I used the phone. Everything looked normal during and after the update.

2) I switched the phone off for the night with about 70% of battery left.

3) In the morning I switched on and connected (the original and official) power supply. Not 100% sure in which order. As I remember, the screen got white and the phone switched on.

4) Next time I looked at the phone the display (and the indicator LED) were black. From this point on I have tried to:

- press and hold the power button multiple times both shortly and up to 2 mins continuously

- connect and disconnect the power supply a few times

- open and close the SIM-card tray

...without *any* sign of life in the phone. It really looks completely lifeless. Not rooted, no special hacks, only commonly used apps from play store installed.

Since there were no symptoms of any kind before this, and this was the first restart after the SW update, I can't help but wonder whether these two are somehow connected.

What next? Is there anything I could/should do other than take the phone back? It is under warranty.

This was a good post for the purpose:

The "2-minute restart procedure" finally switched the phone off. The next restart after that looks normal so far.

Might be just a coincidence and isolated incident.

What happend after the 2 minutes? Did it start by itself or did you leave it to charge some more?

I have tried the 2 min and no change. It is like this for 2 days, I was charging it most of the time.
