I always receive my messages late; I usually get them a whole day after it's been sent to me.
When I send messages though, the people I send it to receive them instantly.
I've also already checked if my SIM Card works okay on another device, and it does.
Really at my wits end here. Thought I'd give the forums a shot before bringing my phone to a service center; there might be a quick fix you guys know of.
Regular SMS. Network coverage is good, I get 3-4 bars. I have an XZ and SMS works fine on it given both phones are in the same room.
I just find it odd that the phone only has problems receiving messages.
- oh yeah, I also have this other problem. Sometimes in a phone call, I can hear the person from the other line but they can't hear what I'm saying?
Hi @Jiroc3, welcome to our community!
I'm sorry to hear about this.
Have you tried sending a text message to your own number and see if you receive that with a delay as well? If you haven't done that, I would recommend doing that.
You can also try another SIM card in your device, even if it works fine in another device, just to make sure that the SIM card or network is not the cause of this.
Regarding that the counterpart can't hear your voice, how often would you say that this occurs? Could you try enabling the loud speaker in your phone when this behaviour occurs the next time and see if the counterpart is able to hear you? I understand that this isn't optimal to do in a some environments but if it occurs when you are for example, at home.
Let us know how it went!
Yeah I've tried that and I'm sure it's not a faulty SIM Card problem.
As with the phone calls, I'd say it happens at least 70% of the time. I've read online that putting it on loudspeaker would be a temporary fix but my phone just freezes whenever I try it.
Thanks a lot for the update!
So the message that you sent to yourself was delayed as well? That sounds very strange.
There is one more thing to try before having your device examined by a trained technician and that is performing a software repair using Xperia Companion. This will delete all data stored on the internal storage of your device, so creating a backup using Xperia Companion before you start with the repair is advised.
If you have another SIM card to try in the phone that is still my something that I recommend that you try!
Keep me posted!
