Hi,
I just switched from my Xperia Z1 compact to an Xperia XA. So I wanted to transfer my micro SD card, but apparently my XA doesnt recognize any SD card. When I put it back into my Z1 everything is fine, so the SD isnt damaged. Any Ideas on what I can do?
Regards
Alex
I just purch. a 32 GB sd card. the phone when inserting the card gives a message is initialy checking card for issues, . Then it promts for formating the card and the then it says unsupported sd card. The card works on other phone. Tried formating the card and also tried other 3 cards all with the same problem. Also tried hard reset.
What should i do ?is this a software bug of a hw problem ? any suggestions ?
Hi @x8052,
Welcome to the community.
I am sorry to hear your XA won't read any SD cards at all.
You can try running a software repair using Xperia Companion to see if that helps. If it is a software problem this should resolve it. If this does not work, I recommend you contact your Local support team to arrange a repair.
Same thing with my XA Ultra. In fact, that is a lame excuse for a piece of hardware. Bought this headset in London while on vacations and it worked fine for about 3 months. After that everything went sour. The left side of the screen died, no response at all followed by ghost touches which were a pain, but I kept things going. Two days ago I was browsing some pics stored on my sd card (a 32Gb sandisk Ultra) and got an error message saying that there was a problem with the card. The phone went dead after that. No response from nothing. Found a video on youtube where the guy told me to press volume up AND down plus the power button. The phone came back to life, BUT yesterday it couldn’t see the sd card anymore. Restart the phone? Nothing happened. Hard reset? Also nothing. Try another card? Nope. Format the card on the PC? Nay. THE CARD READER IS DEAD! Take the phone to support? How? Sony does not warrant their equipment outside the venue of purchase. I live in Brazil and I’m not sending it to London to get it fixed. But what amazes me the most is how Sony refuses to address their problems. A quick google search shows A LOT of the same problem, and here I am with a very expensive paperweight. All of that considering that my previous phone was a Z1 which had all sorts of other hardware related problems. So, yeah… Cheers, Sony. You just lost a customer! Asus here I come!
It's the SD card and it's compatibility...
I had this problem for a long time and it drove me nuts. Here's the answer:
The Xperia XA1 doesn't take 'some' SD cards but does take others, it's a compatibility issue. This is also a problem across all Xperia models, in that my SD card works in other Xperia's, just not in my XA1, which is very frustrating.
I tried various Xperia models and 3 SD cards, my XA1 only worked with one of the SD cards but other Xperia's were fine with all 3.
Hope this helps...
...i recently upgraded my 16gb sd card for my xperia xa. i bought a kingston 128 gb sd card. but when i use it on my xperia xa, the phone just deletes the contents of some of the folders. and my music files wont play. so i inserted my old 16gb, and it's back to normal. even on other phones. i'm considering it must be the compatibility. do you know of any sd card brands compatible with xperia xa?
I tried 3 other sd cards but they all can't be recognised by my sony xperia l1
My sd card is not working what should i do
