Have you checked the categories for what's new? The app may contain recommendations that shows up as notifications. Open the app > Tap the three horizontal lines > Tap the categories and view all recommendations. After this the notifications should be gone.
Keep in mind also that What's New was discontinued on 2019-09-30.
